Pink lotus blooms and broad lily pads painted along the pallu and border of a cream silk saree, following the fall of the fabric.

The idea behind it

A saree is never seen flat. It is read in folds, in motion, and mostly from the pallu - so the weight of the composition sits there, with full blooms at the fall opening into buds and stems that travel down the border. The palette stays narrow on purpose: soft pinks and sage against cream, because silk shows every decision and a crowded palette turns to noise on it.
