Lighter fabric, finer detail, and a piece you can actually wear every week.
Shirts sit closer to the body and are washed far more often than a jacket, so they are painted differently: lighter, more flexible layers of colour, smaller and more considered compositions, and placement chosen to take everyday wear well. It is worth saying plainly, because shirts are the item people most often assume is printed: this is fabric paint applied by hand, not a screen print or a heat transfer.
Cotton, linen and blends
Natural fibres take paint best. Heavy synthetics and anything with a water-repellent or wrinkle-free finish are unpredictable — the finish stops the paint bonding. Send a photograph of the care label with your enquiry and we will tell you honestly whether it will work.
Placement that lasts
Chest, pocket, cuff, collar and back-yoke designs all wear well. We avoid heavy coverage across areas that fold or stretch constantly, because that is where any painted fabric eventually shows its age.
Care
Gentle hand washing is what we recommend: cold or normal water, a mild detergent, no soaking and no bleach. Do not scrub or brush over the artwork. Air-dry in the shade, and iron inside out or under a cloth. Care guidance for your particular shirt comes with the finished piece.
